Practical tips to keep your bouquet fresh for as long as possible
Flowers are not just a beautiful gift, but also a source of mood, comfort, and эмоtions. However, even the freshest bouquet can quickly lose its appeal without proper care. The good news is that extending the life of flowers is quite simple — you just need to follow a few basic rules.

Right after receiving flowers, it’s important to refresh the cut. Trim the stems at a 45° angle by about 1–2 cm. This helps flowers absorb water more efficiently. Use a sharp knife or pruners to avoid damaging the stems.
Use clean, settled water at room temperature. Make sure the vase is thoroughly washed to prevent bacteria buildup.
Flowers do not like heat, direct sunlight, or drafts. The ideal place is a cool room with soft, indirect light. Avoid placing bouquets near radiators or heat-emitting devices.
Many people don’t know that fruits release ethylene — a gas that accelerates the wilting of flowers. Keep bouquets away from fruits and vegetables.
Change the water daily or at least every two days. At the same time, rinse the stems and refresh the cut.
Leaves submerged in water begin to rot and promote bacterial growth. Remove them to keep the water clean longer.
Special flower food or simple home tricks (like adding a bit of sugar or lemon juice) can help extend the bouquet’s life.
Roses prefer deep water and regular trimming. If the buds start to droop, you can submerge them fully in water for a few hours.
Tulips continue to grow even in a vase. They prefer cold water, and stems should be cut straight.
These are among the most long-lasting flowers. They still require clean water and regular care.
Taking care of flowers doesn’t require much effort. With just a little attention, your bouquet will stay fresh and beautiful much longer.
